White deprivation to hopeful color

This project has my brain absolutely buzzing. I had the image a few weeks ago during class of an all white room that slowly gets filled with color by the audience. I started to visualize what this might look like... and came across a LOT of questions:

  • how does the audience interact within the space?

  • who greets them? or are they simply free to wander?

  • how do I make an entire room at ASU white?

  • WHERE DO I GET ALL THESE STICKERS!?!

Since these questions, and others!, have slowly evolved and arisen, I have started to work on the sticker problem. I posted everywhere on social media asking for people to donate their stickers. AND THE TURN OUT! I had 100 comments on one post in 24 hours. I have stickers coming from all over the country from people I have never met. The generosity has been astounding. I have a big bucket in my house waiting to be filled and I am impatiently waiting for the mail to arrive every day.

Other things that have started to formulate in my brain: A "Sticker Coach," also in white, who greets the audience when they enter. She is there to teach them about graffitiing the space, how to throw away their trash, switch the music, and be an embodiment of the life in the space.

More updates soon!!!
